Team First Touch raises over £12,000 for the Neonatal Unit

On Sunday 13th October 2024, our brilliant team of 9 First Touch runners took to the streets to conquer the Royal Parks Half Marathon. So far, our runners have raised £12,000, with this figure looking set to rise.

The team consisted of NNU staff and their relatives, parents of NNU graduates and their friends, and a group of young people running in memory of their much-loved school friend. Sonja, Laura, Jim and Rosie went along to watch and really enjoyed cheering the runners along the route. We’d love for our cheering squad to grow next year, so please get in touch if you’d like to join our pool of Charity Ambassadors.

One of the runners, Fiona (pictured below) told us:

“We all had a brilliant day. I was so pleased to see you all, it made the day even more special. Thank you for coming down to cheer us all on. We will definitely be up for joining the cheer squad in future!

As a family we are so glad we’ve been able to raise funds and say a huge thank you for all the work the charity and neonatal team did when our daughter was born. It’s great the money will be used to help other parents that find themselves in similar situations. It’s really tough seeing your newborn in neonatal care and knowing there is a charity on your side makes an enormous difference.”

Our thanks go out to Fiona, Tamsyn, Benedict, Stuart, Laura, Mabel, Lola, Betsy and Eva. We think that you are all absolute superstars and the money you have raised will be put to good use across our numerous family welfare projects.
