Amy smashes the Berlin Marathon!

On 29th September 2024, Amy Mighalls pounded the streets of Berlin in aid of First Touch and has managed to raise almost £2,000.

Amy was running in thanks of the care received on the NNU by her twins, Max and Maude. Precious Maude very sadly did not make it. She fought hard and will always be loved and remembered by her family. After spending 134 days in hospital, Max is now thriving and giving his older brother a run for his money!

Amy told us:

“After having Covid the week before the marathon I was slightly worried about how it may go. My sensible brain knew just completing the marathon with two children, still breastfeeding, sleepless nights and the year we have been through was enough. But my ego secretly wanted to see if I could achieve under 4 hours, or at least beat my previous time of 4.13 that I set in 2016 when I was younger, childless and could sleep! I managed 3 hours 58 minutes, so crept in under the 4 hour mark! So super chuffed! Max was there at the end and along the way supporting with Andrew, which made it even more emotional and special.”
We are so impressed with Amy’s achievements and the funds she has raised will make a real difference to our babies and their families. To support Amy’s fundraising, please visit her Just Giving page.
