Will Cooper and his family held a fantastic family cricket fundraiser at Chertsey Cricket Club in August and have raised almost £5,000, with the figure still rising. Around 250 people attended the event and attendees were able to enjoy cricket, games, food and drink, a raffle and live music.
Will’s daughter, Melody spent time on the Neonatal Unit last year and had a rocky journey, involving emergency surgery and tube-feeding. The family were touched by the support offered by First Touch, in particular the equipment funded, the emotional support offered and the comfortable environment promoted. Will said: “We are profoundly grateful for the help we received and want to give back so that other parents can feel that same support.”
We are also profoundly grateful to Will, for the huge efforts he has made to raise significant funds for First Touch and to spread our charity’s message far and wide. These funds will really help us to continue our work in trying to make the NNU journey a little easier for our families.
Melody is now doing very well and even managed to stand on her own for the first time – just before the event started!
