Today we say the fondest of farewells to Charity Director, Sarah Collins who is stepping down from First Touch after 20 years of service.
Sarah joined the charity in its early days. She first became a volunteer in 2001 after her daughter, Isabel was cared for at the nnu and in 2004 Sarah was asked to run the charity.
There are not adequate words to do justice to the massive contribution which Sarah has made to First Touch.
In her 20 years at the helm, through her hard work, vision and creativity, Sarah has completely transformed the charity into an organisation that punches well above its weight. Millions of pounds-worth of medical equipment has been provided for the unit to give the babies the best possible care and ground breaking new schemes like the Family Centred Care Co-ordinators have been introduced.
Sarah has balanced all these achievements whilst raising the profile of the charity in the wider community and always putting the welfare of the babies and their families on the unit at the heart of everything First Touch does.
Sarah leaves an amazing legacy and we are all privileged to have worked alongside her.
We wish Sarah every happiness in the next chapter of her life in Dorset.
