It’s marathon season and we have been lucky enough to have several runners supporting First Touch whilst conquering 26 miles of sheer endurance. Hannah McCambridge is one of our Marathon Heroes. She managed to raise over £1,300 when she completed the London Marathon this month.
Hannah told us:
“First touch were invaluable to my best friend and her family during some of their hardest days when their youngest Joey was very poorly at birth.
They helped make their time on the neo natal unit at St George’s a little bit easier. Seeing the strength Lizzie, Ollie, Joey, and the rest of her family showed during this time was my motivation to get through the London Marathon.
When the training was hard, little Joey and his family were at the front of my mind. Running the London Marathon was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, but a total honour to raise such vital funds for such an amazing little charity. I cannot thank everyone who supported me enough, you really have made such a massive difference.”
The funds that Hannah has raised will be put towards our Video Laryngoscope appeal. This piece of equipment enables our NNU doctors to intubate the tiniest babies. We cannot thank Hannah enough for her incredible support and we wish Joey and his family all the very best for the future.
